Understanding that international education is a powerful tool facilitating the free flow of knowledge, building professional and communication skills and preparing students for successful careers, we attach paramount importance to providing students with a variety of opportunities to study abroad.
Since the early 90-s we have established academic cooperation with 14 schools overseas and have identified the forms of joint projects and collaborative activities. The most popular among students are exchange and study abroad programs, which take the following formats:
· Short-term study abroad
· A semester abroad
· An academic year abroad
· Double diploma program
· Second higher education program
Short-term study abroad usually lasts about 2 weeks and allows students to do intensive training at a host university overseas and experience the students’ life and the country’s cultural atmosphere. This program is particularly active with our CIS partners.
A semester abroad offers students the opportunity to attend courses in their field of study and assess their progress by taking appropriate examinations on par with their counterparts from the host university. This program is aimed at 4th-year students and is implemented in conjunction with our partners from Germany, France, and China. The host schools are, correspondingly, the Leipzig Graduate School of Management, the Graduate School of Business Marseille-Provence, Jean Moulin Univertsity Lyon3, and the Capital University of Economics and Business of Beijing.
An Academic Year Abroad is based on the same principles as the program above. Students study at a host university for a year from September to July. At the end of the year students receive a transcript of courses taken and examinations passed throughout their studies abroad. This program is intended for 3rd and 4th year students. On this program we exchange students with the Lyon School of Management, Jean Moulin Univertsity Lyon3, the Graduate School of Business Marseille-Provence, the Leipzig Graduate School of Management, and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College (Virginia, USA).
The selection of participants for the programs “A Semester/Year Abroad” is administered by the home university according with the criteria of the host school, such as the candidates’ foreign language proficiency, their academic performance, other study and communication skills as well as necessary personal attributes.
The Double Diploma program is offered in cooperation with the Lyon School of Management and has been operating since 1997. It is meant for students in their 5-th year at RSUTE. Our students take courses at LSM and follow their individual plan of studies at RSUTE. The program includes the following components:

· Work-placements at European firms;
· Work-placement written report;
· Research work.
